Everything you need to know about Space Borne’s GIS & Remote Sensing courses — curriculum, fees, certification, software, and how to get started.
What’s covered at each level of the RS & GIS program.
Space Borne offers a four-tier Remote Sensing & GIS program — Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma — along with standalone customized courses on QGIS, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, and Python for Geospatial Analysis.
Certificate (4–6 weeks) covers GIS and Remote Sensing fundamentals using QGIS. Advanced Certificate (8–10 weeks) adds satellite image processing, spectral indices, and spatial analysis in ArcGIS. Diploma (6 months) expands into ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, and Web GIS publishing. Advanced Diploma (12 months) is the most comprehensive, adding Python/ArcPy automation, an introduction to GeoAI, and a full capstone project with portfolio review.
Yes. If you only need focused training on a single tool, Space Borne offers standalone software-specific courses on QGIS, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, and Python for Geospatial Analysis, separate from the full RS & GIS pathway.
Yes — if you already have prior GIS or Remote Sensing experience, you can join directly at Tier 2, 3, or 4. A course advisor can help assess the right starting point during enrollment.
Certificate: 4–6 weeks. Advanced Certificate: 8–10 weeks. Diploma: 6 months. Advanced Diploma: 12 months. Customized software courses typically run 2–4 weeks depending on the tool.
How classes are delivered and where.
All programs are available as live, interactive online classes accessible from anywhere in India (or abroad). Select programs also run offline at Space Borne’s classroom training centres for learners who prefer in-person instruction.
Online classes are conducted live, with real-time interaction with faculty. Recorded sessions may also be made available for revision, depending on the course.
A laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection is sufficient. Software installation guidance (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.) is provided at the start of the course.
Course costs and payment flexibility.
Certificate: ₹24,999. Advanced Certificate: ₹44,999. Diploma: ₹84,999. Advanced Diploma: ₹1,24,000. Fees for customized standalone software courses (QGIS, ArcGIS, GEE, Python, etc.) are quoted on request based on duration.
Yes, installment-based payment plans are available for the Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs. Contact a course advisor on WhatsApp for the current installment schedule.
Yes — every tier’s fee covers live training, practice datasets, project guidance, and a Space Borne completion certificate.
Yes, you can upgrade — for example from Certificate to Advanced Certificate, or Diploma to Advanced Diploma — by paying the fee difference. Ask your course advisor for current upgrade terms.
Refund terms vary by program and timing of withdrawal. Please confirm the current refund policy with a course advisor before enrollment.
What you receive on completion.
Yes, every course — from the short Certificate to the Advanced Diploma and customized software courses — includes a completion certificate from Space Borne, an ISO 9001:2015 and MSME-certified institute.
The certificate is recognized for professional and skill-development purposes. If you need it for specific academic credit requirements, please check with your institution’s policy beforehand.
Platforms and programming tools covered.
Courses cover QGIS, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, and Python (including ArcPy and GeoPandas) for geospatial automation, along with Web GIS development using Leaflet.js.
QGIS is free and open-source. For ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro, licensing guidance is provided — many learners use trial or institutional licenses during the course; ask your advisor for current options.
Yes. Courses use real Landsat 8/9 and Sentinel-2 imagery and practice datasets, not just sample/demo files, so you build genuine classification, NDVI, and LULC mapping skills.
Background requirements and ideal candidates.
No prior experience is required for the Certificate level or beginner-friendly software courses like QGIS. The Diploma and Advanced Diploma assume basic familiarity, which can first be built through the Certificate or Advanced Certificate.
Students, researchers, and working professionals from environmental science, civil engineering, urban planning, forestry, geography, and related fields.
There is no strict age limit. A basic educational background (school or college level) is sufficient for the Certificate tier; higher tiers benefit from a science, engineering, or geography-related background.
What happens after you enroll — and after you finish.
Space Borne provides project guidance during the course and continued post-course WhatsApp support for queries. Capstone projects in the Diploma and Advanced Diploma are designed to build a portfolio useful for job applications.
